Porsche has finally torn the remaining wraps off of its first purely electric sports car, the Taycan. Reveal events have taken place in Germany, Canada and China. Let us take a closer look at the EV and its detailed specs.

Based on the PPE platform, the luxury sedan/saloon exists in two main versions, called Turbo and Turbo S for tradition’s sake. The former packs 680 PS (670 hp, 500 kW), while the latter has 761 PS (750 hp, 553 kW) at its command. Both come bundled with the same 93.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, but their ranges are different. The Turbo can sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and travel as far as 450 km (280 miles) before needing a recharge. The Turbo S has a faster sprint time (2.8 s), but runs dry after 412 km (256 miles). The top speed is electronically capped at 260 km/h (161.6 mph) for both versions.

Look inside, and you will be amazed at the sheer number of displays. The curved digital dash spans 16.8 inches across, the multimedia touchscreen measures 10.9 inches diagonally, and there is a third, 8.4-inch display integrated into the center console. Two more screens are available as paid options – one for the front passenger, the other one for those sitting in the back.

By default, all trim versions ship with an advanced voice assistant that you can activate by saying ‘Hey, Porsche’. Paid extras include carbon-ceramic brakes, an active aerodynamic kit, adaptive suspension, and rear-wheel steering.

Prices in Netherlands begin at €157,000 for the Turbo, with the Turbo S coming at a €34,000 premium.
