Mercedes-Benz talks about the 2nd-gen MBUX infotainment for the S-Class
The luxury-laden Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be the first to take advantage of the company’s second-gen MBUX infotainment system assisted by machine learning. Let us delve into the details.
In its latest implementation, the MBUX once again consists of two separate displays: dashboard and multimedia. The central display has a portrait orientation and supports four selectable modes. Tactile feedback is available at a premium, and the 3D effect it features does not rely on any kind of glasses.
The MBUX can be configured to recognize the driver by their face, voice and fingerprints. It comes with an extended Interior Assist package that now recognizes up to 20 actions. For instance, you simply need to wave your hand in the general direction of the sunroof to open it, or look behind your shoulder to lower the sunscreens.
